Amplify In-depth Media Conference

ABOUT AIMCA

Amplify In-depth Media Conference & Award (AIMCA)

A platform for bold conversations, greater accountability and journalism that serves the public.

THE AIMCA PLATFORM

One Platform. Two Vital Roles.

Amplify In-depth Media Conference & Award (AIMCA) is WSCIJ’s flagship annual platform for convening journalism, ideas, accountability and public-interest action.

Since 2022, WSCIJ has brought the Amplify In-depth Media Conference and the Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting together as complementary components of one platform. Together, they create space for critical conversations about journalism and democracy while recognising courageous reporting that serves the public interest.

The Conference

A space for ideas, learning, debate and collaboration around the issues shaping journalism and democracy.

The Award

A recognition of courageous, rigorous journalism that uncovers truth, challenges power and serves the public interest.

The conference asks the questions. The Award celebrates the journalism that helps answer them.

ABOUT THE AIM CONFERENCE

A Forum for Deeper Conversations

The Amplify In-depth Media (AIM) Conference and Awards brings together journalists, media professionals and other stakeholders to reflect on the state of democracy, the media profession and investigative journalism.

It creates a platform for dialogue, learning and collaboration, while developing strategies to amplify public-interest reporting and the voices of marginalised communities that the media works to protect, with a special focus on Nigeria and Africa.

First launched by WSCIJ in 2020 under the theme Masked Not Silenced, the conference has evolved into a broader platform for conversations about journalism, democracy and accountability.
